2026 Summer Workshop in Da Nang – Part I

KOPEL held its 2026 Summer Workshop in Da Nang, Vietnam, from June 29 to July 3, 2026.

On the first day, the members traveled to Da Nang on Korean Air and arrived at the Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa. After a short break, everyone gathered for dinner at Ran Gio Restaurant, marking the beginning of this year's summer workshop.

Later that evening, the group visited the Han River and Dragon Bridge to enjoy the beautiful night view of Da Nang. It was a great opportunity for the members to relax and spend time together outside the laboratory.

The second day began with free time at the Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa, where everyone enjoyed the facilities and had time to recharge.

In the afternoon, the group traveled to Hoi An and experienced the famous Coconut Boat ride. During the tour, everyone also enjoyed an unexpected performance by Professor Cho, whose singing brought plenty of laughter and made the experience even more memorable.

Afterward, the members explored Hoi An Ancient Town, visiting its historic streets and enjoying local attractions during their free time.

To conclude the day, the group boarded traditional wishing boats at sunset and floated lanterns along the river while making wishes. The peaceful scenery of Hoi An at dusk became one of the most memorable moments of the workshop.

The first two days of the workshop provided a valuable opportunity for KOPEL members to strengthen friendships, experience local culture, and create lasting memories before continuing with the research seminar and the remaining workshop activities.
