KOPEL participated in The 57th KIEE Summer Conference, held at Yongpyong Resort in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, from July 8 to 10, 2026. This year was especially meaningful as KOPEL attended the conference together with 32 undergraduate students from Konkuk University.

On the first day, the 2026 Summer Workshop of the Innovation Research Center for Next-Generation Power Device Systems Based on High-Efficiency Power Conversion was held as part of the Energy Workforce Development Program. Professor Young-hoon Cho of Konkuk University, Professor Kyo-Beum Lee of Ajou University, and Professor Sang-Yong Jung of Sungkyunkwan University attended the workshop and discussed the future research direction of the center.

In the evening, the conference banquet and the Industry-Academia-Research Festival were held. KOPEL members and Konkuk University students won many of the prizes through games and prize drawings, including the grand prize, Apple AirPods Max. Congratulations to all the winners! 🎉

On the second day, Professor Young-hoon Cho served as a session chair for the oral presentations held in the Opal Hall of Tower Condominium. KOPEL researchers also presented their research topics and findings, exchanging opinions with members of the academic community.

In particular, Bongguk Kim (Ph.D. Candidate), Byungchul Kim (M.S. Candidate), Seojin Park (M.S. Candidate), and Dongyeon Yoo (M.S. Candidate) received Outstanding Paper Awards. We sincerely congratulate all four researchers on this meaningful achievement, which reflects their continued effort and dedication.
The conference offered a valuable opportunity not only to share research findings, but also for faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduate students to interact and deepen their understanding of power electronics. We appreciate all KOPEL members who contributed to the presentations and event preparation, and once again congratulate the award recipients.
