Seminar by Prof. Seol Seung-Ki from HD Hyundai – “Current Status and Future Prospects of Electric Propulsion Ships

On October 16, 2025, KOPEL hosted a seminar at Konkuk University’s College of Engineering Auditorium, inviting Prof. Seung-Ki Seol, Honorary Professor at HD Hyundai and IEEE Fellow.

The lecture, titled “Current Status and Future Prospects of Electric Propulsion Ships,” was joined by students from Sungkyunkwan University and Ajou University. Prof. Seol shared valuable insights into the application of power electronics in the marine industry and the future of ship electrification.

He emphasized that reliability is the most critical factor in shipbuilding, inspiring KOPEL to pursue continuous technological advancement grounded in trust and engineering excellence.
